“un’ottima sintesi tra storia e design contemporaneo”

Staying in history

When you visit a city rich in history to then retreat to a hotel or rental that's missing that very element, it can be a bit of an anticlimax. Indulgence Divine is a Malta historic accommodation for two in a 16th century house in the city of Vittoriosa, synonymous with 1565's Great Siege & close to Valletta..

Old buildings have a soul. They have captivating stories to tell. They're almost like an opportunity to meet ancestors and sharing moments with them. They transport you to another dimension. Unless you've stayed in historic places before, it's difficult to comprehend how significant a meaning this can have to your understanding of the area.

We've all romanticised at some point in our life the idea of time travel. With the Maltese city of Vittoriosa, I'd give anything to find out what it felt like living in the time the Phoenicians built their temple to Astarte (1400BC), or what it meant for the European nobility to see the port with its medieval Fort after their defeat in Rhodes and feel their relief at finding the ideal place to settle in (1530AC).

“Tout, chez Indulgence Divine est séduction.”

Enrich your stay in history

Old wooden houses in the UK can sometimes creak and groan and some find this discomfiting in the stillness of the night. Stone houses such as this don't carry this soundscape and you'll find yourself in the land of nod before you know it.

To help create the ambience conducive to "time travel", I would suggest reading a historic novel before going to bed, say David Abulfia's Great Sea or The Religion by Tim Willcocks.
